- 1-2/3 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup baking cocoa
- 1-1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/3 cups whole milk
- Confectioners’ sugar or favorite frosting
Recipe Instructions: Preheat oven to 350°.Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans; set aside.In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.Beat in eggs one at a time.Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating just until combined.Pour batter into prepared pans.Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.Cool cakes on a wire rack for ten minutes; remove from pans to wire rack to cool completely.Dust with confectioners’ sugar or frost as desired.
